I opted for another solution, as I could see on the map that I could avoid the river by ascending its east side, contour a system af lakes and get back on the trail just before the hut. Having no idea of what terrain to find, this detour got quite strenous when passing through moorland and crossing of boulder fields. Yet still it was better than having to ford the river bare-footed.
