Two years earlier I had my first visit to California, and already at that time I had had the aim of doing some mountain climbing in the Sierras. But at that time it was March and there was still too much snow for mountain climbing. But now it was May, weather was friendlier and me and my friend decided to have a go for Mount Whitney.
