This momument of the four American presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln was carved into the solid Harney Peak granite above the village of Keystone in Black Hills, South Dakota in 1927-1941 by 400 workers led by the scuptor Gutzon Borglum, born in Idaho by Danish immigrants. So in some way I felt connected to this place, although this day I was just a visitor.
