My first faint experiences in wearing lycra gear was in the start of the 80'ies when I bought a few pairs of nylon/lycra briefs. This Speedo-like swimwear was intended to being used at the beach, but as I didn't go to the beach I was using them instead of normal underwear. Only very rarely I used them on their own, as in this example from 1993. Here I was on a two-week trip to La Santa Sport on Lanzarote, and for the first time in my life I was participating in a triathlon. It was only a short race, though, but to me it was a proof that finally I had learned to swim.
