Skardu is about one hour's flight away from Islamabad, but as flights often are cancelled because of the weather, we had to travel two days by bus instead. So on our return journey we decided to wait a few days for a flight out, and during those days we visited the luxury ShangriLa resort in an enclosed valley half an hour outside town.
