One of the last mountain trips I made that summer was a two-day trip out from Martigny in the Swiss Rhône valley. The main target of this trip was to climb the rocky spire of Pierre Avoi, a large pinnacle overlooking the valley, but doing the trip in two days made it possible to us to climb a few more summits en route.
