Being the gold winner of the triple jump competition, Pierre continued the tradition of inviting the silver and bronze winners to stand aside him on the top of the platform to receive the applause of the audience. Jimmy Bidstrup of Denmark had won silver with a jump of 9,53m, while my friend Ben Hall from Indiana took the bronze with 8,10m.
