A few weeks earlier I had asked for a check-up of my knees in my local hospital, and the result was somewhat depressing, as I will need to have a prosthesis replacing both my knees! My good legs, which had served me so well the last 55 years, were going to be cut open in October! Of course I could think about it - but before the sun had gone down I had accepted the surgery so I hopefully could get to walk better than I did these days.
