We set off, and in the darkness of the boot I soon had lost any sense of direction. While driving I developed fantasies of where we were going, and was half way expecting to be taken to some desolate place where I would be tied and abused. But when we finally came to a stop and I was taken out of the boot, I realized that we were in front of the hotel I had booked for the weekend.
