Only the waistband is a little tight, but this only means that the shorts fit even better and never tend to glide down no matter what happens. As there are no tags in the shorts I don't know what they are made of, but my guess is that they are made of about 15 % lycra and the rest nylon, as this is how the fabric feel. And these rainbow colored Wags shorts were just the right piece of lycra gear to follow me on the hike up Barr Trail.
