Standing on the outer pier of Aquatic Park I could enjoy the view across to Alcatraz, but I also enjoyed the sight of two other wetsuitclad guys swimming out of the basin and continuing along the outside of the harbor, while a kayaker was passing a bit further out. Really a good example of the stereotype of Californians as sporty people.
