I ran back to the dike to follow it north to the marshy part where I normally would transfer to the tongue of land, but this time there was no need of doing so because the bridge on its southern end was impassable. So instead I just turned around at an ice-cream booth beyond the marshy area and where I normally connect to the tongue of land, to return back the same way I had come.
