We could drive right to the snout of Athabasca Glacier, only ten minutes' walk away. This was supposed to be the highlight of the field trip, and many of the delegates were surprised, when putting their feet on a real glacier for the first time in their life. However, to me it was just a glacier like anyone else, and I spent the time doing my own research for when I would return a week later for climbing some mountain here.
