View From

The first pair of tights I bought mail order, from a British sports shop. I had seen a similar pair of tights in the catalogue with pinstribes at the side turning from yellow over orange to red. But when they arrived I was very disappointed to see these marine tights with dark green pinstripes instead. They were not the ones I had hoped for, and on top of this they weren't as supple and stretchy as usually. Would have been okay to a smaller guy than me, but I couldn't use them for running either. I took them on this trip to Chamonix in September 1996, and this was about it. Almost unused they remained at the bottom of my cupboard for several years.
