Winter had come, and with the winter also the usual problems with snow and ice had arrived. Towards the end of February 2013 I one afternoon was out running in the local wood, only to find that the roads were covered with a thick layer of hard, slippery ice. I thought that running neutral and cautiously I could run even on these icy roads. And it worked, at least for a start.
