| With an elevation of 5642m, Elbrus is the highest mountain of Europe, situated in the Central Caucasus near the Georgian frontier. The previous week we had made a five-day trek up the Adyrsu and down the Adylsu valleys to get used to the altitude, so now we were ready for the high mountain. |
