Back in 1996, almost fourteen years before, I had made a weekend climb from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, when me and my German climbing mate had hiked into the Estergebirge mountains, to climb three of the highest peaks there. At that situation we had passed a guesthouse on the way in, and now I wanted to check if that guesthouse was still open.
