During the time which had passed since the blood clot I had prepared myself for this first hike in several ways. Through my overseas travels I had several times before packed, unpacked and carried a heavy rucksack, and I had also made single-day hikes for several hours, but I had not combined the challenged since I had been struck by this blood clot. But now, in October 2014, I decided it was time to make my first overnight hike, testing my ability this way.
