It was now March 2016, and it had been long time since I had been gone for a long walk. In former years I had often gone on long multi-day hikes carrying my rucksack with food for several days on distances of beyond fifty miles, but after I had been struck by the blood clot in 2013 I was now happy with less challenging walks.
