Thus they are principally not as stretchy as they could be, but being a size Large they still fit me well. Even though I normally prefer to wear my tights in size Medium, I prefer stirrup tights to be a size larger, so the stirrups won't pull down the legs when I run. And footed tights are in some way like stirrup tights, though more comfortable.
